Ultherapy | bodylase®Ultherapy is an FDA approved cosmetic enhancement procedure. It is a non-invasive, non-surgical skin tightening and lifting treatment that is commonly used on the neck and visage areas. Although only recently approved in the USA, this form of treatment has been widely used in Europe and Asia for several years. Millions of people have already been treated using Ultherapy, with research studies and testimonies demonstrating the effectiveness of this particular treatment. But what is unique about the Ultherapy procedure, and how does it differ from other non-surgical facelifts?

Ultherapy is the only non-surgical facelift procedure to use advanced ultrasound image mapping. This means that a certified practitioner can actually view layers of muscle and tissue underneath the skin. Unlike other treatments, like lasers, Ultherapy can identify which areas to target during treatment in order to give the best results to each individual patient.

Unlike most other non-surgical facelifts the technology of Ultherapy stimulates the collagen production in the thicker layer of the epidermis. This means that an Ultherapy facelift doesn’t just treat the surface of the skin, it also encourages a lift from within by activating deep tissue muscle.

Ultherapy must be carried out by a certified practitioner and on a licensed premises. There are many types of non-surgical facelifts that do not require distributors to train, or work within a particular standard. With Ultherapy patients can feel confident that their procedure is being carried out by an experienced therapist with optimal care.

Ultherapy has little or no down time, with most patients choosing to book over lunch then return to work. Ultherapy is also less expensive than other procedures like a traditional facelift or MACS lift. Unlike many other ‘on the spot’ procedures, patients of Ultherapy are able to book a one-to-one consultation before their appointment. This unique session reflects the nature of this procedure, where patients are able to discuss particular areas of concern.

Unlike other non-surgical facelifts, Ultherapy does not require patients to carry out any special skin care preparation before the day of treatment. As with most cosmetic procedures, some patients experience slight discomfort with this procedure, although pain is very rare. If you are very sensitive it is possible to take an over-the-counter painkiller one hour in advance of your treatment.

The length of an Ultherapy procedure can vary depending on what area you are having treated. On average one area takes approximately an hour to treat. After this time, it is possible to return to work or normal activity straight away. Some patients can experience slight redness or swelling, but this is uncommon and should subside within a few hours of treatment.
