What is Hydrafacial?
Hydrafacial targets many of the most common skincare concerns like signs of aging and dryness, all with no side effects. The Hydrafacial treatment takes just 30 minutes and requires no recovery time so that you can squeeze it into even the busiest of schedules.
This medical-grade resurfacing treatment cleans out the pores with the added benefit of hydrating the skin. HydraFacial is a four-step treatment that includes cleansing, exfoliating, extracting, and hydrating the skin with serums.
The Benefits of the Hydrafacial Treatment
Hydrafacial treatments can improve the skin in a lot of different ways. Some of the key benefits include:
- A brighter, more hydrated, clear, and plump complexion.
- Improved appearance of signs of aging.
- Increased skin firmness.
- Reduced fine lines and wrinkles.
- More even skin tone and texture.
- Lightened brown spots.
- Reduced appearance of enlarged pores.
Want to get the best results? Here’s how to prepare your skin for a Hydrafacial.
Hydrafacial Treatment Steps
1. Cleansing
Hydrafacial starts with a quick manual cleanse done by the esthetician, and the VortexFusion treatment with Activ4 follows that. This treatment combines exfoliating lactic acid and glucosamine HCI with antioxidant-rich algae. The combination softens and conditions the skin, preparing it for the next step.
2. Deeper Exfoliation
In the second step of the Hydrafacial, the skin is exfoliated. There are two different tips available for this part of the process, with one being more aggressive than the other. They can deliver one of three different levels of glycolic acid (7.5%, 15%, or 30%) combined with 1.5% – 2% salicylic acid. The combination of chemical exfoliation from the peels and the physical exfoliation from the tip gives a good result quickly, without the wait and tingling that you might experience with a traditional chemical peel.
3. Extractions
This step utilizes a different tip and Beta-HD to soften sebum with salicylic acid. After the skin is soft, the blackheads and sebum are suctioned out of the open pores. At the same time, spiraea ulmaria (Meadowsweet) flower extract calms and soothes, and honey extract hydrates the skin.
4. Hydration
After the skin has been cleansed, extracted, and exfoliated, it is ready for an infusion of specialized serums. This step delivers an optimal blend of nutrients to the skin:
- Peptides: Formulated with magnesium, copper, and zinc.
- Antioxidants: Infused with green tea extracts and horse chestnut seed.
- Hyaluronic Acid: Attracts water to the skin, keeping it hydrated and plump.
The results of a Hydrafacial are a radiant glow and beautiful softness to the skin. You’ll feel like a million bucks – just the way you want to feel when you walk into a big event and all eyes are on you.
