What are the Different Levels of Tixel Treatment? 

Tixel is available in three treatment levels depending on your aesthetic concerns and recovery time frame.

What is Full Ablative Tixel?

Full ablative Tixel is the highest intensity level, with results similar to deep chemical peels after just one session. Ideal for skin tightening or scar treatment, it requires a 2-3 day recovery window.

What is Medium Ablative Tixel? 

Medium ablative Tixel achieves similar results to full ablative treatment but over multiple sessions. With lighter treatments spread out over a longer period, patients can resume regular activities after just one day following each session.

What is Open Channel Tixel? 

Open Channel Tixel is the lightest treatment level and uses mesotherapy to open up channels in the skin’s upper layer where medicine can be easily absorbed. This level of Tixel addresses conditions like rosacea and hyperpigmentation with minimal downtime. Most patients resume their normal activities the next day.

What Happens During the Tixel Procedure?

Tixel at BodyLase is remarkably straightforward and comfortable. During the treatment, a licensed practitioner applies controlled thermal technology directly to your skin. Treatment sessions typically last around 20 minutes. 

Here’s what to expect:

Unlike laser treatments, Tixel is radiation-free and stimulates collagen production without smoke, bleeding, or skin charring. 

Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed.

Depending on whether you’ve chosen complete ablation, medium ablation, or Open Channel Tixel, your practitioner will adjust the applicator device to the appropriate settings.

The device will be gently pressed against your skin in a systematic pattern.

You’ll feel a mild warming sensation as the thermal energy is delivered.

What Can You Expect After Your Tixel Treatment?

Tixel recovery is typically quick and manageable. Immediately following the procedure, your skin will appear slightly swollen and red, similar to a mild sunburn. Redness and the accompanying warmth will generally subside within 2-4 hours. Depending on treatment intensity, most patients return to normal activities within 0-2 days. 

Here’s what to expect in the weeks following treatment:

• Micro-crusting will occur the day after treatment and typically subside several days later.
• After one week, your skin will begin to glow.
• Over the next six weeks, your skin will progressively tighten.
