What to Expect for Morpheus8 Treatment
Before the Treatment
During your complimentary consultation, our knowledgeable team is here to answer any questions you have about Morpheus RF microneedling. We will also use this time to discuss your medical history, current medications, primary skin concerns, and aesthetic goals to ensure we tailor your treatment package to your unique needs.
Our providers will also evaluate your skin type to confirm if Morpheus8 is right for you and provide specific preparation instructions before your treatment.
During the Treatment
A Morpheus8 treatment session typically lasts from 30 – 60 minutes, though specific timing will depend on the size of the area being treated and your unique skin requirements.
Your provider will select the device tip that best suits your skin’s needs. Before treatment begins, your provider will apply numbing cream to the treatment area – or provide a nitrous oxide application – to ensure your comfort.
Once the effects of the numbing cream have set in, your provider will pass the Morpheus8 handpiece over the skin in the treatment area. As the device passes over the skin, most clients will feel a combination of heat and pressure on the treated area – similar to a prickling sensation.
After the Treatment
Treatment day: Immediately following treatment, your skin will be red and sensitive. The redness will gradually fade to pink over the course of the day, and your skin may feel tighter than usual. Some clients may experience slight bruising or swelling.
- Days 2 – 4: Your skin will likely remain pink, and you may experience dryness, sensitivity, and irritation in some areas. Pin-point bleeding marks and small scabs may appear as the skin begins the healing process.
- Day 5+: Your skin will start to return to normal.
- Week 3+: More significant results will begin to set in, unveiling a brighter, tighter, and more youthful appearance. Your skin will continue to improve for up to three to six months following treatment.
Post-Treatment Care
In the days following your Morpheus8 treatment, we recommend you follow the guidelines below to maximize results and expedite your recovery:
- Keep the treatment area clean to prevent irritation or infection
- Avoid any products that will cause irritation, such as scrubs or retinoids, until your skin is fully healed
- Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher on a daily basis
- Avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours
- Protect the treated area from over-exposure to the sun for at least one month
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 – 72 hours post-treatment
After your treatment, your provider will share personalized post-care instructions tailored to your skin type and treatment area.
Morpehus8 Results
Our clients have noticed drastic improvements in their skin after just one treatment. However, for the most dramatic, long-term results, we recommend a series of three treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart.
Morpheus8 delivers long-lasting results, with most clients enjoying visible improvements for a year or more. Because skin continues to age over time, we suggest a maintenance session every 12 – 18 months to keep your skin looking its best. During your consultation, our team members will work with you to determine the treatment plan best suited for you.
To further enhance your Morpheus8 results and expedite recovery, BodyLase also offers exosome therapy. Derived from stem cells, exosomes are rich in growth factors that soothe inflammation, reduce redness, and support rapid skin recovery. Morpheus8 Downtime
Unlike surgery or invasive procedures, there is minimal downtime following a Morpheus8 treatment. Clients can typically return to their work and daily routine promptly after their treatment.
Given there will likely be residual redness, irritation, and swelling in the first couple of days post-treatment, some clients find it works best with their schedule to have their Morpheus8 treatment on a Friday to allow time over the weekend to heal.
We strongly advise that all clients follow the post-treatment care instructions that will be shared by your provider – doing so will ensure a smooth and speedy recovery.
