How Filler Works
Dermal filler is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment designed to restore volume, smooth out fine lines, and enhance facial contours. Certain types of fillers can also be used on the hands or to smooth and plump areas such as the buttocks, legs, and more. Different filler formulations are designed for different treatment goals.
During the treatment, injectable gels are placed just beneath the skin’s surface, providing several enhancements:
May stimulate collagen production for longer-term skin health
Add volume beneath the skin to lift and contour
Smooth static lines and folds (like smile lines)
Improve hydration and skin texture (depending on filler type)

Treatment Areas & Recommended Fillers
Not all fillers are created equal — and neither are the treatment goals. At BodyLase, we match each client with the right filler for their unique anatomy and aesthetic vision. Each area of the face has different skin thickness and movement patterns, which is why proper product selection and technique are critical to achieving beautiful, natural results. Our medical providers will ensure you get the ideal filler for your desired treatment outcomes.

Filler Aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure smooth recovery and optimal results. Here’s what to expect after your dermal filler appointment:
Avoid intense exercise, alcohol, and heat (like saunas or hot tubs) for 24–48 hours
Apply ice to minimize swelling and bruising
Avoid makeup over the injection sites until the next day
Mild swelling, redness, or bruising is normal and usually subsides within a few days. Most patients resume normal activities right away, though strenuous workouts and facial massages should be avoided temporarily.
Is it reversible? If necessary, yes! If you’re receiving a hyaluronic acid filler like Juvéderm or RHA, an enzyme called hyaluronidase can dissolve the filler if needed.
Filler Results and Longevity
How long your filler results last depends on the type of product used and your body’s natural metabolism. In general, you should schedule a filler follow-up 6-12 months out to assess how to maintain your results. Here’s a quick breakdown of the most common brands:

Yes. When injected by experienced professionals like those at BodyLase, fillers enhance your features while maintaining natural expression and symmetry.
How long do fillers last?
The duration of results varies depending on the area being treated. Typically, results for lip treatments last around six months, while other areas may maintain effects for up to eighteen months. Your provider will be able to give you a more accurate estimate during your consultation.
When can I get another treatment?
You can schedule maintenance treatments as soon as your results begin to fade, often every 6–12 months, depending on the area.
What are the side effects of filler?
Common side effects include temporary redness or swelling, which can last up to three weeks, as well as bruising or tenderness at the injection site which usually resolves within a few days. Serious complications are rare when performed by trained providers.
